Today was pack up your bags and start the trip home. We said our goodbyes to Raquel and Eric and Miles, we had a great time, and it was a very special visit to spent some quality time with our new grandson Miles.

This picture of the flying horse is for all my granddaughters, Ashley, Livia, Rebekah and Adeline! I thought of you all when I saw this, it was the size of an actual small pony suspended from the roof! When we left, Bronner's you can see in the picture is was snowing, huge snow flakes...which made for a very long drive for the next 210 miles to Mackinaw, MI.

Our speed varied from 25 mph at times to 55 mph, with the majority of the time the speed was around 40mph. The Interstate had snow and slush, and icy conditions and was mostly just one long line of cars in the same lane, because the other lane had no wheel tracks.

We arrived in Mackinaw, booked a room in a hotel, that looks towards the the bridge. which is the picture below just as the lights came on, and you can see the visibility is only about 3/4 mile.

Here is Miles in his new John Deere shirt, it is a little big but he will grow into it shortly. But he will be a Coffee Lake Farm Boy!

Crystalie and I could here this bright red cardinal, singing outside the apartment, so we were looking for him in all the trees, and finally found him way up in the tree tops.

A big yawn, from the little guy this morning, just before we got ready to go out to the farmers market in downtown Ann Arbor.

This is some of the bread we saw at the Farmers Market, there were about 25 booths of different stuff, crafts and paintings and jewelry and of course fresh veggies, and flowers also, it was lots of fun even though it was a little brisk in the wind.

We also visited a store called Hollanders...a paper store, Crystalie was in heaven looking at all the different types of papers and shopping through the entire store.

Okay, I should have brought my chainsaw, this is the view out of the patio window of Raquel and Eric's, all these ash tree pieces just cut into logs and laying all about...I could have used all this!

Spring is a little closer here, as you can see by this picture of spring flowers poking through the leaves and grass, downtown in Ann Arbor, someone is very envious.

Enjoying a morning feeding in the light of the patio window. All in all Miles has been a very content baby, although late last night he had about an hour of some serious fussing, but after getting a full tummy one more time. He settled in for the night even though it was 1:30am.

We were off to see the new Grandson Miles, bright and early the morning of the 31st. We left home around 5:45 am, and the picture above is from our lunch break at a rest stop south of Madison, WI on I-90 heading east to Ann Arbor, MI. Crystalie packed a whole bunch of stuff for our lunch and snacking on the way. Good job dear! We stopped only for gas and bathroom breaks, and to eat this great lunch!

This is our view out the windshield as we headed into downtown Chicago, around 2:45 pm, we got through Chicago and into Indiana around 4:00pm, so all in all we kept moving pretty well considering traffic through the Windy City.

Heres who we arrived to see along with his Mom and Dad of course, we arrived at their apartment in Ann Arbor, 8:30 pm eastern time, so our 14 hour drive ended spending time with Miles! It was about a 750 mile drive.

The morning of April 1st, I was holding him while he was still sleeping, from his 6:30 am feeding. Pretty precious....nice job Raquel and Eric!

Well as you can see we had Robin's in the yard, this wasn't the only one, but it is a good picture of one of them thanks to Crystalie. I am sure others of you have seen some maybe before this, but it is the first time we have seen them here. We have spent the last couple of days preparing for our trip, to see our newest grandchild and our house sitters are coming in shifts, over the time we are gone, to watch over all the critters and fuel the wood stove and take care of Tootsie and Smarkle. So look forward to something new and exciting posts!

Well I don't have a picture, but we had company last night for supper. We enjoyed grilled steaks, garlic seasoned mashed potatoes, and fresh salads, and also some fresh homemade rolls, and for desert a nice chocolate brownie served warm with a little scoop of ice cream. It was all great and we enjoyed catching up on her busy life and also things going on with the two of us.

It was our close friend Colette, who is a longtime friend of Crystalie's that she has worked with at various restaurants in her younger years, and since those days they have always been close. And Crystalie's friend became my friend many years ago and I also am her handyman for odd jobs around her place.

Colette is a golfer and her and I play golf together few times every summer, which usually ends with the three of us enjoy a nice meal together.

She is a good golfer also and her and I play fairly close to each other score wise but many times she ends with the best score. But I chalk it up to the fact she plays 4-5 rounds every week and works at her game a lot more than I have time to do. But none the less it is always and fun and a good challenge.

We are busy making our plans to visit the new grandson Miles, and his Mom and Dad. We are both looking forward to some new baby time and lots of pictures and time with Raquel and Eric.

Plus seeing a part of the country I have not been to!
